Hyzaar is an oral drug used to reduce the risk or a stroke and treat high blood pressure. It’s a combination of two active ingredients - hydrochlorothiazide and losartan – that prevent the blood vessels from narrowing and reduce the amounts of salt absorbed by your body. If you are unable to urinate or ever had an allergic reaction to either of the two active ingredients of Hyzaar taking this medicine is not recommended. The symptoms of an allergic reaction can include hives, rash, trouble breathing, swelling of your face, tongue and throat.
